Respect. Appreciation. Development.
What an incredible Pride Month for the CBS Corporation. I want to congratulate the entire CBS Family for participating in the NYC and SF Pride Marches this past Sunday.
As Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the Corporation and Executive Sponsor of CBS PRIDE, I was absolutely thrilled to be a part of a wonderful day in New York City celebrating the first WorldPride event in the United States with 500-plus company-wide employees, friends and loved ones. It was truly an honor to join with our strong team as we walked by the Stonewall Inn recognizing the birth of the modern gay rights movement 50 years ago.
CBS is proud to have been a Platinum Media Sponsor of WorldPride NYC and Stonewall 50. Besides the Heritage of Pride March, Los Angeles and SF Pride Marches, I hope many of you had a chance to attend one of the other events the Company held nationwide to celebrate.
CBS PRIDE, the Company’s LGBTQ Employee Resource Group, will have more programming and events in the near future. Be sure to go to www.cbspride.com for updates and links to Twitter, Facebook and Slack. We’ll also be sharing pictures from CBS Photo taken at the marches.
Finally, thank you to ALL the volunteers that helped make this happen. It was a wonderful day and month. Happy Pride!
On a separate but important related note, CBS today reaffirmed its commitment to a diverse and inclusive workforce by joining more than 200 businesses, including many of America’s best-known companies, in signing a friend-of-the-court brief urging the U.S. Supreme Court to rule that federal civil rights law bans job discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
